One step at a time

It became very apparent how much athletes use this way of thinking when I was watching Wimbledon earlier in the year.

Many a time a player was interviewed who had come back from the jaws of defeat to win the game. When asked how they’d done it, they said it was about focusing in the moment, one point at a time, and then continuing to build upon it.

So, whether it’s in our professional or personal lives, taking one step at a time really does help.

It can quieten the voices in our head, as well as what feels like chaos into manageable chunks. It enables us to regain control and focus on progress rather than perfection.

When everything feels like it’s slipping away, even the smallest victory can spark hope and momentum.

If you tried to tackle everything at once, it can feel overwhelming. But one step at a time? That’s how you start to see a path forward.

Ever felt like a single step has helped you find your footing in a tough situation?
